Product Description If you're shooting tabletop shots of small items, another component of a successful image is an attractive background. The Ego-sweep is fast to set up, easy to use, and compact to fold up. It comes with a generous selection of different colored paper for creating a smooth background without a visible corner. The Ego-Sweep is easy to use. Fold out support stand on the back. Choose the paper color & attach to the background clips. Tape the front ends of the paper down if curling is too great. Place the object & arrange your lighting for the desired effect. Experiment to achieve the best results. Keep the object towards the front end of the sweep paper to minimize shadows on the back. Try different camera angles for the best composition. Now anyone can create great looking professional results in their home. Lowel, the Academy Award winning world leader in location lighting for film & video, introduces a revolutionary tabletop fluorescent Digital Imaging Light & Background, the elegant & easy to use Lowel Ego

its ok October 15, 2008 This Mommy is Going Natural! (Austin, TX) The white background with the clips was useful. However the colored background are just large pieces of construction paper. Not really impressed.
Very good product! August 11, 2008 Pamela L. Neese (Dallas, TX USA) I purchased this item to use in photographing smaller items for an onlinie catalog. it comes with several different color backgrounds and works great. I would like the stand to be a little more stable, but it is terrific.
Great for Macro / Small sized Table Top Work December 27, 2007 R. A. Ciordia (Charlotte, NC United States) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
If you own a Ego Fluorescent Digital Imaging Light set(s) or you just need an infinity backdrop this one will get the job done. It's very easy to setup, very easy to attach the assortment of papers to give some nice color/contrast to the objects you are capturing. It's also so light you can carry this nearly anywhere and drop and go. The negatives to this setup is it's fairly cheap. The papers left in light (sunlight) will fade rather quickly. The stand itself is pretty flimsy and has only a little rudder in the back that keeps it standing. It's all made out of some corrugated like plastic. I don't want to dissuade someone from owning this. I find it quite useful and works very well when you stay in the bounds of its usage. If you need a quick way to get started without a lot of overhead this is a great tool. If you are doing macro work or 1'-ish models, it's great. If you go too large you'll escape the bounds and then need a much larger solution (or a diy backplane). All in all I've been happy owning this little guy and continue to use it on a near daily basis for the past 2 years.
Not so handy June 6, 2007 Ahmed A. Darwish (Jeddah, Saudi Arabia) 34 out of 35 found this review helpful
I mistakingly thought this was a white add on for the mini studio I bought from Amazon 2 months ago, mainly cause Amazon recommended this together with the same studio. It turns out that this is just a standing cardboard with clips and some colored paper for background. The papers are wider than the cardboard itself, so to use it with the mini studio you have to actually cut the paper to fit exactly in the studio. There isnt even a bag or a protective case for the paper, which makes it very easy for it to get dirty or damaged.
