Low price, works great. July 29, 2010 G Kirk You hear a lot of talk about the remote not working from the rear of the camera.
After trying in many different angles from the rear of the camera I found that it doesn't work every time from a straight on angle from the rear. It does work at a lower angle pointing upward towards the bottom right side of the D5000 and sometimes it works from behind the camera by holding the remote button and making a circular motion.
Bright light seems to affect the rear operation also.
Needless to say I use a window mount on my vehicle and aim the remote at the bottom right side and it works every time. I'm sure everyone's experience will vary. You get a remote for 10 bucks that works...You can't beat that!
I also assigned the FN button to control shutter settings, makes for a quick and easy switch with the thumb wheel while holding the FN button. The window mount and the remote makes a great combo for low light conditions with long shutter speeds for landscapes, sunsets, real estate, etc. Great little gadget, very happy with my purchase.
Works like a charm July 22, 2010 Holly Elizabeth-Jean (Iowa, USA) First off, make sure your model camera is listed. I have a Nikon D5000. When I got it, I changed the shutter setting to remote, and it worked the first time. No problems at all. What I also love about this remote is it does to an automatic focus if your lens has the auto focus mode. It is small enough to hide in your hand for self portraits. The only and I mean ONLY downside I have found is fingerprints show up all over it very easily. But easily wipe off.
Very useful July 20, 2010 Albert Morales (Chicago, IL) I just bought a Nikon D3000 and haven't had any problem using this remote control for taking pictures.
excellent alternative to Nikon remote July 18, 2010 John McCartney (Hillsboro, OR United States) Just picked this up, tried it out right away. Works great! An excellent lower-cost alternative to the Nikon remote, using it with a D5000. Just setup remote mode on the camera, click the remote and presto!
Nice remote control July 11, 2010 T. Ten (Newark, NJ, USA) The remote worked with my camera (D3000) after I changed shooting options. The range is not huge, so if you are more than 6 feet away from the camera, it may not register the remote on the first try.
