5 out of 5 stars best SD holder out there   April 4, 2010
    T. Treibel (Port Orchard, WA)
Product construction is of great quality and my SD cards are safe for future archiving needs. Wish they made one the size of a paperback book that held even more SD cards,

    Will buy this product again!

1 out of 5 stars Piece of JUNK   January 25, 2010

It's made of aluminum not High-Impact plastic (I can't believe I fell for that one.) I would rather have had the plastic.

The cheap aluminum shows fingerprints and dirt relentlessly. In a couple of weeks it will look terrible. It is also very slick with no real edges or grip points making it hard to open especially if it jams shut.

Yes a moderate amount of pressure or a drop from 3 feet onto carpet will cause the thin aluminum to mis-align and jam shut. There is NO clasp to prevent jams. Only spring pressure to keep the clamshell closed.

DOES NOT HOLD SD CARDS IN PLACE
Worst of all multiple test drops from as low as ONE-FOOT onto carpet resulted in 2 to 3 of the four cards on top to pop out and slide around loose in the case. No hard use here, slip the case in your pants pocket, walk down the street or go up and down the stairs two or three times and you will have three or more cards loose and falling out if you don't open it carefully.

    IN CONCLUSION:
If I had wanted a box where 9 times out of 10 most of the cards would be bouncing around loose I would have purchased a cheap plastic case for .50 cents at the dollar store. --- Anybody want to buy mine, I'll sell it cheap. ;-)

3 out of 5 stars Holds SD cards, hinge & latch misalign   December 6, 2009
    Eric Bucholtz (Indiana 46614)
It was cheap, it holds SD memory cards, the latch sometimes doesn't align correctly. It is not for my high-use memory cards so I'm not worried about it and it's better than having loose SD cards laying around.

4 out of 5 stars Very handy memory card storage.   November 5, 2009

Good: Keeps memory cards organized. Looks nice. Very convenient size.

Not so good: The rubber liners don't always stay in place. I solved this with just a tiny dab of rubber cement on each side, no issues since.
The latch that keeps the case closed is not as sturdy as I would like, and when I have to carry the case for any significant time I put a rubber band around it just to be safe... The tab that holds the two sides together can be adjusted slightly for tension but is then more difficult to open. Both are very minor irritations compared to the convenience of having 8 memory cards in such a tasteful and portable case.

Be aware, this case is NOT waterproof and not designed to handle crush loads as the Pelican kinds are. It is also nowhere near the Pelican case in price! If handled very roughly, the cards can come out of their rubber holders, but that doesn't happen very often in my experience. The brushed aluminum exterior is getting scuffed and has some very minor dents now, but it actually looks better to me with a bit of "weathering". I suppose it could be buffed/sanded out, since it is a brushed finish.

Overall, I am pleased with this case. I recommend it if you have 8 or fewer memory cards that you need to store or transport. If you have more cards, I think a sturdier case would be a wise investment.

Seems to work OK. Not waterproof or airtight by any means, so I may put a strip around the seams when considering long-term storage.
