Cannot get past the smell. June 9, 2010 Jorge Vargas (Houston, TX United States) I am sure this is a great little device if I could get past the smell. It is awful. I am thinking I got a defective one because nobody else has mentioned that this thing stinks like burning rubber. And the smell stays in your nose and gets on everything it touches. Please someone let me know if this is the case with all of these.
Works Great! June 6, 2010 Tyrone Barton (International) So far it works just as I thought it would. Its sturdy, and didn't cost as much as other mini-stands do...the stands that are cheaper in price than this one are also cheaper in quality.
I am glad that I was able to get this flip stand brand, to go with my flip camera.
It also works with my other digital cameras, so it works great for timed still digital pictures...of course my wife's professional canon is to heavy for it, but that's to be expected it wasn't made for that.
Great to have video that is hands free and not shaky!
Easy, portable, useful June 5, 2010 K. Sullivan (Houston, Texas) Short and sweet: it works. The tripod is easy to install. It is easy to manipulate into position. It folds into a small bundle that easily fits into the camera's original box (nice when shipping to friends or family).
Not good enough June 4, 2010 Miguel Rodriguez (Chicago, Illinois, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I boought this for my flip ultra camara but it doesnt hold it in position. You can't grab anything for a short period of time before the camara moves out position. This tripod is too small to balance the weight of the camara but when you stand it up it works but only on top of a very hard surface since it takes so little to make it tumble, my camara have fallen twice this way . Please save your money and buy one that hold more weight.
It works, but it could be better May 29, 2010 musicmama (California) I purchased this tripod for my Flip UltraHD to record my accordion videos for YouTube. I found the legs to be a bit short. I had to position the tripod on a box on a table to get the right height for viewing me sitting on a chair. I also wish that the flexible tubing was a bit wider diameter and stronger. I suppose that would add to the overall weight. The camera will fall over if the legs are not absolutely balanced. It takes some fussing around to get the camera positioned just right. I prefer the tilting mount on my standard tripod. However, one use for this tripod is to fold the legs together and hold it as a grip while making hand-held movies. I do that all the time. So I am getting practical use from it.
