Don't know how I got along without it. January 8, 2009 GR Blizz (Atlanta, GA USA) If you don't have a battery grip and you shoot a lot of sports or other Portrait-orientation shots, you don't know what you are missing. As a "prosumer" sports photographer, I was always having to fix the rotation of action shots taken by turning the camera sideways. No more. And they extra battery means I pretty much never have to worry about running out in the middle of a day of shooting. My only warning is that I sometimes accidentally slip the on-off switch into the "off" position, making the shutter release stop working. The switch is right below the on-off switch on the camera. If you get a third battery and a battery charger with a car adaptor, you can literally shoot all day.
Good Product January 6, 2009 Karran Sahadeo (New Jersey) I got this for my 40D for Christmas, and I fell in love with it right away. Shooting in portrait mode became so much more comfortable, I couldn't tell anymore whether I was shooting in portrait or landscape because it both felt the same. My only issue was that it took me a few minutes to figure out the shutter button as it is not the same as the shutter on the camera, But all you need is to add a little more pressure.
BG-E2N battery grip December 27, 2008 R. JOSE (United States) functional. It gets a little time to get used to specially if you've been using your camera for a while without it. Overall I rate it highly necessary.
Stick with brand names December 24, 2008 J. E. Pinc (Woodridge, Illinois) I purchased this Canon battery grip after owning an off brand type grip. WHAT A DIFFERENCE! The quality says it all. If you're looking for a well made grip, get this one
Must Have Accessory December 18, 2008 Ryan E. Duncan (Milwaukee, WI United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased this for my Canon EOS 50D ( I have always used a battery grip with my Canon's) and I can't imagine life without it. Very sturdy yet comfortable. I shot over 1300 photos without a re-charge with 2 battery packs...simply amazing. Don't hesitate to add this to your purchase, it is a "must have" in my opinion.
